Cookie Policy

Last updated: 20 July 2026.

This policy explains what cookies are, which cookies HelpClinic uses, why, and how you can manage them. We follow a minimalist approach β€” by default we load only the cookies necessary for the site to work, and optional cookies (such as analytics) load only after you give consent.

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files placed by your browser on your device. They help websites "remember" certain information between visits β€” for example a chosen language or login state. Cookies themselves don't identify you personally, though combined with other data they may.

2. Cookie categories we use

We group cookies into three categories.

2.1. Necessary (always on)

These cookies are required for the site to function. They do not need your consent, because without them the site simply would not work.

  • laravel_session β€” keeps your session active during the visit (for example, retaining a partially filled form after a reload). Lifetime: 2 hours. Provider: HelpClinic.
  • XSRF-TOKEN β€” protects against Cross-Site Request Forgery attacks. Lifetime: 2 hours. Provider: HelpClinic.

We also remember your language choice in browser localStorage (key: helpclinic_locale). Technically this is not a cookie, but it behaves similarly β€” the value is stored locally and is not sent to the server.

2.2. Analytics (optional)

With your consent, we use analytics tools that help us understand how you use the Service and keep improving it. Analytics cookies and identifiers load only after you give consent in the cookie banner β€” if you don't give it, or you decline, they are not activated.

For this purpose we may use the following tools:

  • PostHog (hosted in the European Union) β€” analysis of how the Service is used and product statistics;
  • Google Analytics 4 (provider: Google Ireland Limited) β€” traffic and usage statistics; sets cookies such as _ga and _ga_*.

Data collected for analytics is not used to identify you and is not used for automated decision-making or profiling. We do not transfer it outside the European Economic Area. You can withdraw your consent at any time in "Cookie settings".

2.3. Marketing (optional)

We currently do not use marketing or retargeting cookies. We do not embed social-media tracking pixels or ad-network tags. If that changes, we will let you know and ask for consent.

3. Third-party cookies

Apart from the analytics tools described in section 2.2 (loaded only with your consent), we do not embed external content that would set cookies without your knowledge (for example, standard-mode YouTube players or social widgets). If we add such components, they will be blocked by default until you consent.

4. How to manage cookies

You are in control:

  • Browser settings β€” every browser lets you view, block or delete cookies. Quick links: Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge.
  • Private / incognito mode β€” most cookies expire when you close the window.
  • Cookie banner β€” once we deploy analytics or marketing cookies, a banner will appear letting you accept, decline or fine-tune your consent. You can change your decision at any time.

5. Effects of blocking cookies

Blocking necessary cookies may break certain features (for example the contact form). Blocking optional cookies does not affect the core experience.

6. Changes to this policy

We update this policy whenever we change the set of tools we use or when regulations change. The date of the last revision appears at the top.
