Loneliness Check
Six questions about the gap between the closeness you want and the closeness you have, over the past 30 days. It takes about 2 minutes to complete.
Instructions
Loneliness is not the same as being alone. You can feel lonely in a full room, and you can spend a lot of time by yourself without feeling lonely at all. This questionnaire asks about the gap between the closeness you need and the closeness you actually have.
Answer six questions, thinking about the past 30 days. You can take the result to a conversation with a psychologist.

This is a self-reflection tool developed by HelpClinic. It is for information only and does not replace a professional diagnosis. It is not a validated psychometric questionnaire, and the boundaries between score levels are not clinical thresholds. Loneliness is not a mental disorder, but persistent loneliness is associated with low mood, anxiety and poorer physical health β and it can be a symptom of depression rather than only a cause of it. If it has been with you for a long time, talk to a psychologist or psychiatrist.
