Source and licence: This questionnaire is an adaptation of the Smartphone Addiction Scale β Short Version (SAS-SV) by Min Kwon, Dai-Jin Kim, Hyun Cho and Soo Yang, published in PLOS ONE (2013) under the CC BY 4.0 licence.
Changes made: HelpClinic altered the number and wording of the items, the response format and the scoring, translated them into six languages, added questions about sleep, notifications and distraction during face-to-face conversation, and moved the tool from the adolescent group the SAS-SV was developed for to adults. This modified version and its score bands are not validated, and are neither endorsed nor approved by the original authors.
